Growth Mindset (15 min)

At Acton, you will interact all day one-on-one with mini heroes who are capable of finding a calling and changing the world. The way you talk to them is important and can shape the way their mind develops and their attitude towards learning. 

We expect our guides to practice and always try to use growth mindset praise when interacting with learners. Here is a short video with a good explanation of growth mindset and some practical examples but we invite you to do more research on your own into Carol Dweck’s work about how growth mindset can impact young people and how to use it as a guide, parent, mentor, or friend.
